Resolved Question: When can I obtain a police report about myself in California?

I was ticketed in Simi Valley for misdemeanor resisting/delaying a police officer 2 days ago under section 148 of the California Penal Code. (I wasn't resisting anything, and I complied with all of the officer's demands btw). Now I have to show up in court, and I was trying to obtain a copy of the officer's report. I was told that even though I am an involved party, I cannot obtain a copy of the officer's report, and that I must wait until my court date. I feel like I am being lied to, because they refused to give me the full name of the officer involved with the incident, and wouldn't give any of the details I requested from them. I feel like I should be entitled to hear the case against me before I go to trial. Are they allowed to withhold this information, and if so under what specific legal circumstances or laws? BTW, the stop was illegal, and the search he conducted of my car was also illegal, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be found innocent.
